Pjanic’s departure gets complicated as Juventus close in on Locatteli’s signing – report

As per reports from Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Juventus are interesting in signing Miralem Pjanic despite having secured Manuel Locatelli.

The process, however, is complicated because several factors need to fall in line to render the operation feasible.

The Italian media outlet says that the first such prerequisite to make the deal happen is that Juventus need to sell a player. Many players have been linked with a move out of the old lady, however, Aaron Ramsey is the name that pops up most often.

The second condition is a wage cut by the Bosnian. Pjanic is on a higher salary at Barcelona than he was paid at Juventus. However, the player values minutes and contribution to the team — something he is starved of at Barcelona.

That said, the player might be willing to let go of the extra dollar to facilitate a return to Turin.

The final factor in play regarding the midfielder’s future is the interest from AS Roma. Jose Mourinho’s side, too, is said to be interested in acquiring Pjanic’s services, which could be decisive in his decision.

Miralem Pjanic has remained an outcast for a major chunk of his period in Catalonia. In Koeman’s defence, the signing was not one that he asked for. The deal was made purely to balance the books, leading to Arthur Melo moving to Juventus while Pjanic moved the other way.

The former Juventus star was left out of Koeman’s squad against Real Sociedad, a clear message from the manager that he is not in the season’s plans. That said, Pjanic’s departure could bring in much-needed revenue into the club’s accounts.
