While there have been plenty of positives to take from Barcelona’s blistering start to the season, there is a sense that all things have been leading up to their box-office clash against Bayern Munich.

Despite the fact that the Catalan club have majorly improved as a whole from last term, the tie against the Bavarian giants is considered by many to assess where things stand with this side currently. However, intriguing revelations from Spain disclose that those within the Barça camp are fired up for the contest.

As per a report by Javi Miguel of AS, an undisclosed member from Xavi’s staff described the mood within the dressing room by saying, “There is a lot of desire for this match in the locker room; the technicians have been preparing it for several weeks and the motivation of the players is total.”

Furthermore, it is stated that Barcelona also have their sights on the upcoming battle as a chance to avenge their successive 3-0 losses to Bayern last term, as well as their humiliating 8-2 destruction in 2020.

Intriguingly, it is revealed that ‘arrogant’ statements made by those within the Bayern dressing room about the club each time both teams have met have not been forgotten.

Thomas Muller, who tends to do so in the build-up to such games, is understood to cause ‘special animosity’ within the Catalan dressing room.

Another motivation for the side is believed to be the desire to beat Bayern in Munich, considering the Spaniards’ best results at the Allianz Arena have been two draws (1-1 in 2008/2009 and 2-2 in 1995/1996).

They were extremely close to taking a win there during the 2014/15 UCL semis second leg, after two goals from Neymar helped Barcelona to a 2-0 lead at half-time. Bayern came from behind to get three in the second half, though

However, Barcelona are said to be convinced that they can defeat Julian Nagelsmann’s side and make a statement on Tuesday.
