Papers: The connection between Messi and Pedri gives Barcelona another win

Yesterday was a big night for Barcelona and Ronald Koeman. The Catalans managed to clinch all three points against Athletic Club at San Mamés following a rather thrilling but difficult game. And the morning papers are focusing on two players, just like they usually do – Lionel Messi and Pedri.
Interestingly, both outlets went with the same cover and both are gushing with praise over Barcelona’s two main stars. SPORT say that their connection was the key to victory last night and there’s no arguing that.

Not only that but following that victory, Barcelona find themselves in a Champions League spot for the first time this season. But even with that being said, they are still five points behind Real Madrid and seven behind league-leaders, Atlético Madrid.
Mundo Deportivo are saying pretty much the same things and with the same title too. The Messi-Pedri connection is Barcelona’s salvation and continues to prosper.

The Argentine added two goals while the youngster helped with his solitary strike, which was luckily enough to edge out the hosts and clinch the victory.
Another interesting fact is that it was the third consecutive triumph for the Catalans away from home. Slowly but surely, Koeman is getting his team right back on track.
Let’s hope they keep going up for the remainder of the season and beyond it.
