It’s not unusual that shortly after a big defeat for Barcelona, there are rumours signalling the end of days. Of course, in the Catalans’ case, we’re talking about Lionel Messi’s inevitable departure from the club. This morning, the papers are all over that alleged transfer.
Mundo Deportivo claim PSG are coming for the Argentine and even quote their sporting director, Leonardo, ‘flirting‘ with the idea of that huge move.
Of course, this doesn’t exactly come as a surprise given the circumstances and the recent events. However, we do know Messi is not going to leave until the summer. It has to be said, as Mundo Deportivo remind as well, that the two teams will face in the next round of the Champions League.
The Parisiens aim to take advantage of that clash to destabilise Messi and maybe make their moves then.
SPORT are talking about the exact same thing this morning – ‘PSG are going for Messi‘, screams the title that serves both as news and warning.
“We are happy to join the large table of interested parties. We haven’t moved in yet, but we have already reserved a seat“, were the words of Leonardo, the sporting director of PSG, who seems confident about their chances.
Summer will be here soon and everything should be resolved by then. However, it does seem like the media are convinced the final goodybe is quite near.
