Papers: Juventus are in the race with Barcelona to sign Sergio Aguero

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has been heavily linked with Barcelona ever since he announced his decision to leave the English giants at the end of this season. Aguero has consistently been one of world football’s elite strikers, and his name has surfaced regarding a move to Barcelona in almost every window over the last few years.
Aguero’s current contract with Manchester City ends this summer, following which he will become a free agent. Barcelona have been in the market for a striker for a long time now, and being able to acquire his services for free could be a good alternative for Barcelona if they fail to make a marquee signing due to their tight finances.
According to today’s edition of SPORT, however, Barcelona are not the only club vying for the Argentine’s signature. Italian giants Juventus have also entered the race to sign the 32-year old to bolster their attack.

Juventus have also been considering striking options recently. Still, the Blaugrana believe that they would get precedence if they decide to pursue Aguero, as he dreams of playing at the Camp Nou. There are still a few roadblocks however.
If Aguero were to join, it would have to be a low-cost operation and the 32-year old would have to accept lower economic terms. Given his stature and pedigree, he will want a lucrative deal, but Barcelona cannot offer him extra luxury since the wage bill is already overflowing.
The Spanish outlet also highlight that crucial moments are coming in the Eric Garcia transfer saga. The former La Masia defender is also out of contract in the summer and his move to Barcelona is almost confirmed barring any last minute complications.
