Nearly a month ago, during his first official interview, newly-signed Emerson claimed that Barcelona were his dream club and talked about how he had been waiting for this moment forever. Growing up idolizing Dani Alves, he had no other destination in mind.
Cut to less than one month later, Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur have reached a deal for Emerson for €30 million, including variables, which has been announced by the London outfit on their social media.
Barcelona will get €25 million from his sale, out of which 20% (€5 million) will go to Real Betis as part of their sell-on clause.
Emerson made only three appearances in the league for Barcelona, starting only one — Sunday, against Getafe. During his short stint here, he was a model professional and reportedly did not make a fuss regarding changing clubs twice in a month.
