Barcelona took on Valencia tonight at the Camp Nou in what was another 1-0 win for them. Raphinha’s header in the first half came up clutch as Ferran Torres missed a penalty in the second half.

Another key moment in this game was Ronald Araujo picking up a red card for a last-man tackle.

This created panic among the Barcelona fanbase because depending on the referee’s interpretation of the rule – depending on violent or professional -, Araujo could miss either two or more games.

His exclusion from the Athletic Club clash next weekend is certain, but according to the official refereeing report, the foul has been deemed as a professional last man foul that prevents a clear chance for the opponent on goal.

As such, Araujo will miss just the Athletic game, but should be back in time when Barcelona take on Real Madrid in a fortnight. Xavi will have the services of Jules Kounde, Andreas Christensen, Eric Garcia, and Marcos Alonso in central defence.
