Official: Pedri nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the best U21 player in Europe

Within one year, Pedri’s life has changed. Not only has he gone from signing for Barcelona to become an undisputed starter in the team, but the Spaniard has also done absolute wonders with the Spanish National Team.
In his limited tenure under Luis Enrique, he has won the European Championship Young Player of the Year trophy and played the Olympics final as well.
Pedri’s excellent run in the top flight continues as he has been officially nominated for the Kopa Trophy by France Football, given to the best U21 player in Europe.

Pedri is among ten players nominated for the award, alongside Mason Greenwood, Bukayo Saka, Jeremy Doku, Ryan Gravenberch, Jamal Musiala, Florian Wirtz, Jude Bellingham, Giovabbi Reyna, and Nuno Mendes.
This is only the third edition of the award, first given in 2018 to Kylian Mbappe. Matthijs de Ligt beat Jadon Sancho and Joao Felix to the trophy in 2019, but it was cancelled for 2020 alongside the Ballon d’Or.
Undoubtedly the favourite for the Kopa Trophy, Pedri could be in for another fantastic news as leaks report that he has been nominated for the Ballon d’Or 2021.
