Soon after the Champions League Round of 16 draw, the Europa League draw kicked off, featuring none other than Barcelona. The Catalan giants were relegated to the UEL for the first time in their history and will compete in the second tier of Europe for the first time in over a decade.

The Europa League knockout stage format was rebooted this season, with the relegated UCL clubs set to take on the group stage runners up. As such, Barcelon had the chance to draw one of Napoli, Lazio, Dynamo Zagreb, Rangers, Olympiacos, and Braga.

Barcelona have been drawn against Napoli in the first stage of the knockout stages. The first leg will take place at the Camp Nou on February 17th.

The other fixtures include Sevilla vs Dyanmo Zagreb, Atalanta vs Olympiacos, RB Leipzig vs Real Sociedad, Borussia Dortmund vs Rangers, Zenit vs Real Betis, Sheriff vs Braga, and Porto vs Lazio.

Barcelona have been handed undoubtedly the toughest of the six available opponents, and given Napoli’s incredible form, it seems like a tough ask. That said, January reinforcements could go a long way to decide their fate.
