Official: Barcelona starting lineup to face Cadiz
For their second away trip in the league in a row, Barcelona have travelled to Andalusia to take on Cadiz. It’s gameweek five, and a win today would be monumental for Xavi’s side ahead of their Champions League clash against Bayern Munich in midweek.
Keeping that in mind, the Spanish gaffer has made a bizarre nine changes to the starting lineup that came back 5-1 victors against Victoria Plzen.
Hector Bellerin has been awarded his debut, starting at right-back. He is one of three Spaniards starting as part of the back-four, with Alejandro Balde on the left side of the defence.
Gerard Pique and Ronald Araujo are placed in the heart of the backline as centre-backs, screening Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
In midfield, Sergio Busquets returns as the sole pivot, with Frenkie de Jong moving upwards as the central midfielder. Gavi rounds off the midfield trident as the other interior.
Finally, there are three changes in the attack as well. Raphinha replaces Ousmane Dembele on the right-wing, while Ferran Torres comes in on the left-wing. Memphis Depay gets to start his first game of the season as the striker.
