Barcelona will look to sign off their 2021/22 season on a high when they lock horns with Villarreal in their final La Liga game at Camp Nou on Sunday night.
Barcelona secured a second-place finish last week when they played out a goalless draw against Celta Vigo. That means, there is not much left to play for the Blaugrana on Sunday although Xavi Hernandez & co. will be aiming to put on a show for the supporters.
Ahead of the final matchday of the 2021/22 season, Barcelona have released their official 23-man squad for the game against Villarreal.
Xavi welcomes back Frenkie de Jong and Jordi Alba into the roster after the pair served out their one-match suspension against Getafe. As for the rest of the squad, it bears resemblance to the usual affair, with all the familiar names on the list.
Ronald Araujo also makes a return after missing the last game due to concussion protocols.
It could very well turn out to be the last official game for some of the players on the list such as Martin Braithwaite, Luuk de Jong, Neto and Samuel Umtiti, who has been included in the squad.
Xavi has once again called up B team prospects Alejandro Balde and Jandro Orellana for the squad. Alvaro Sanz and Mika Marmol, who made his first-team debut against Getafe, do not make the cut, however.
