Barcelona have announced the squad list that will lock horns with Deportivo Alaves at the Camp Nou in gameweek 23 of La Liga. The biggest takeaway the list is the inclusion of Miralem Pjanic and Sergino Dest, who were ruled out due to injury against Sevilla in midweek. Martin Braithwaite, though, does not make the cut, and is still recovering from an muscular injury.
Alex Collado and Konrad de la Fuente have received the call-up and tomorrow could be the game where they receive starts given the game against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday. Riqui Puig and Fransisco Trincao will be at the Camp Nou as well, and could be given the chance to shine in the starting lineup as well.
Elsewhere, Ilaix Moriba is also part of the list, but his inclusion seems unlikely given the plethora of midfielders in Barcelona’s ranks. That said, he will surely be given the nod ahead of Matheus Fernandes, who makes the cut as well.
Full list: Ter Stegen, Neto, Peña; Dest, Mingueza, Lenglet, Umtiti, Alba, Firpo; Puig, Pjanic, Pedri, Busquets, De Jong, Matheus, Collado, Ilaix; Griezmann, Messi, Dembele, Trincao, Konrad
Absentees: Pique, Araujo, Braithwaite, Coutinho, Roberto, Fati
Atletico Madrid face a tough schedule ahead of them, and dropping points against Celta Vigo gives hope to the Barcelona faithful. It also proves that the league might still be within reach, and making far-fetched rotations may be too risky despite an important game in midweek. On that note, though, it is imperative that key players such as Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele receive some rest.
