Confirming what has been already known for a long time, Barcelona have announced the departure of Ousmane Dembele to PSG.

“FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement for the transfer of Ousmane Dembélé for 50.4 million euros,” the official statement from the club read.

Dembele joined Barça back in 2017, arriving from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth €135 million to replace Neymar.

However, the French winger’s time at the Catalan club was riddled with injury troubles which meant he could never really realise his full potential.

Things had been looking up for him in the recent past though, especially after the arrival of Xavi as manager, with the 26-year-old growing into one of the most pivotal members of the team.

However, he opted to join PSG this summer despite having previously admitted that he was in negotiations over a new contract.

The Parisian giants activated a private clause in his contract with Barcelona and will be paying €50.4 million for his signing.

Reports have claimed that there had been some disagreement between the Blaugrana and Dembele over the division of the fees, but it has been seemingly resolved, although it is unclear as to how the two parties will be splitting the fees.

Dembele departs Barcelona after six years during which he made 185 appearances and won three La Liga titles.
