As had been known for the past week, Estanis Pedrola has left FC Barcelona to sign for Italian club Sampdoria, the club have officially confirmed.

FC Barcelona and Unione Calcio Sampdoria have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Estanis Pedrola for one season, until June 30, 2024,” the official statement read.

“The agreement includes a conditional purchase option of 3 million euros per party of the Italian club at the end of the season.”

As indicated by the statement, the 19-year-old will be joining Sampdoria on an initial loan deal with a purchase clause of €3 million which will be triggered next summer.

Furthermore, the Blaugrana have retained a buyback option worth €7 million for the Spaniard while also reserving a 50% future sell-on clause.

Estanis joined the Barcelona youth academy in the summer of 2021 and made quick progression to the club’s subsidiary side.

The 19-year-old even made his first-team debut for Barça in January 2022, against Mallorca, although that remains his only senior appearance.

Estanis was a key member of the Barça Atletic squad last season, scoring eight goals in 23 matches, while he trained with the senior team as well.

With a buyback clause inserted, Barcelona will closely monitor his development in Italy and could look to re-sign him if things progress well.
