Following his return from the Spanish national team camp today, Alejandro Balde was subjected to examinations after he suffered an injury scare last night.

Indeed, the 19-year-old was taken off at half-time during Spain’s match against Scotland after which the national team announced that the left-back will not be travelling for the game versus Norway this weekend due to fitness problems.

Having returned to Barcelona today, Balde underwent tests at the club’s facilities and it has now been officially confirmed by the Blaugrana that the teenager is dealing with some discomfort in his adductor.

“Test conducted this Friday on full back Alejandro Balde have confirmed that he has an adductor injury in one of his hamstrings. It means he will be unavailable for selection until the problem heals,” the statement from the club read.

Expected to be back for El Clasico

It is understood that Balde’s injury is not serious and that he could be sidelined for a period of 10-12 days only.

It casts doubts over his availability for the game against Athletic Club right after the international break, but the 19-year-old is expected to be ready for the first El Clasico of the season against Real Madrid on October 28.
