Barcelona announced their fifth departure of the summer transfer window after Jean-Clair Todibo, Konrad de la Fuente, Matheus Fernandes, and Fransisco Trincao with the sale of left-back Junior Firpo to Leeds United.
Leeds will pay Barcelona €15 million for the transfer while reserving 20% of any future sale. The official statement released by the club thanked Firpo for his ‘commitment and dedication’ while wishing him all the best for the future. Firpo signs a four-year deal with the Premier League outfit which will last until the summer of 2025.

Firpo joined Barcelona from Real Betis in 2019 for a fee of €18 million, and was seen as a long-term replacement for Jordi Alba. However, he failed to displace his compatriot from that position, and was eventually left out as a squad player filling in several positions including left-back, right-back, and centre-back.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have already announced two signings this summer, making Firpo their third arrival, which has been in the works for a few weeks now. He will also don the #3 shirt during his time at Elland Road.
