“Nothing completed yet”: Barcelona-linked defender speaks out on rumours

Noussair Mazraoui has been linked with a move to Barcelona for a few months now. The transfer is on the verge of being completed now, with only a few formalities due.
The Catalan giants have reportedly offered him a €5 million salary including add-ons, and the move could be done very soon. He would, thereon, become Barcelona’s third winter signing as transfers for Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie are reportedly next-to-official.
The Moroccan is not one to spill secrets, though. After Ajax’s from the Champions League last night, he was asked about the Barcelona links.
“Nothing has been completed yet with Barcelona, not even nearly. Otherwise I’d be honest,” Mazraoui was quoted saying by Fabrizio Romano.
Reports circulating yesterday claimed that Barcelona’s advisor the president, Jordi Cruyff, had taken a trip to Amsterdam yesterday to scout Mazraoui from Ajax, and Darwin Nunez, Alex Grimaldo from Benfica.
Mazraoui created just the one chance yesterday but was fantastic in defence, making eight tackles and two clearances. Grimaldo, meanwhile, got the assist for Nunez’s winning goal. Safe to say, Cruyff must have come back home with positive reports.
