Manchester United, Chelsea, and Juventus ready to battle it out for Barcelona forward
Apart from Xavi’s revolution at Barcelona, the biggest talking point over the last few months has been Ousmane Dembele’s contract renewal saga. The Frenchman was on the verge of signing it when it was revealed that he would, in fact, leave the club for free in June.
There have been several teams interested in Dembele since his profile makes him a comfortable addition at most top clubs. According to SPORT, there are three mega-teams fighting it out for him in the summer: Manchester United, Chelsea, and Juventus.
Manchester United: Borussia Dortmund(‘s) wings
United have struggled with the right-wing for several years now; a problem that was expected to be solved when Jadon Sancho was brought in the summer for a price north of €80 million.

He has, however, found a place on the left side recently, with Marcus Rashford being deployed on the right side – to little success, though.
Dembele could prove to be the ideal solution for them on the right side. His age, coupled with his two-footedness and pace, would make him an ideal long-term candidate for the Red Devils.
Chelsea: The Thomas Tuchel factor
Chelsea do not shy away from shelling out substantial transfer fees to bring in their desired targets, which can be seen with their acquisitions of Kai Havertz in 2020 and then Romelu Lukaku in 2021.
However, a chance to reunite Dembele with the coach that brought out the best in him — Thomas Tuchel, is not one they will not want to miss. Reports claim that the Blues’ have already ramped up their pursuit of the winger, and are currently in the driver’s seat.
Juventus: Chance to be the main man
Juventus seem to be on their way back to reviving their club after bringing in Dusan Vlahovic in the winter for €70 million. The striker does, however, need service, which is not as readily available in Turin as one would hope.
With their wings in crisis, Dembele makes for a strong case. He can play on either wing and could create a deadly partnership with Vlahovic. Further, with Paolo Dybala set to leave Juventus on a free transfer in the summer, Andre Agnelli will definitely be in the market looking to reinforce their attack.
