Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez has been in England for only a little over a year, but has already won a plethora of trophies.

Indeed, the Argentine international was part of the team that completed the historic treble of the Premier League, FA Cup, and the UEFA Champions League last season, and followed it up with wins in the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup, with the 23-year-old even scoring in the finals of the latter last week.

Not to mention, the young forward has won it all with Argentina as well, including the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.

Despite his contributions, Alvarez remains somewhat under the shadows of Erling Haaland at Manchester City. It has given way to speculations about a move away from the Etihad for the future.

Barcelona, for one, have been credited with an interest, with manager Xavi seeing him as a future reinforcement target at the club. Real Madrid, who are in the market for a new No. 9, have also been sporadically linked.

During a recent press interaction, Alvarez was asked about his future and a possible move to Barcelona or Real Madrid in the transfer windows to come.

Responding to the query, the Manchester City striker said (h/t Albiceleste Talk): “Real Madrid or Barcelona? The truth is I’m very happy at Manchester City. I’ve been at the club for a little more than a year. I feel very happy with everything we’ve achieved.

“From the first moment, they’ve helped me a lot. I’ve grown a lot as a player, and as a person, so I’m happy at the club. And obviously, one continues to dream and continues to want to win more titles. Now our goal is to compete and try to win them all over again!”

Alvarez signed a new contract with Manchester City in March earlier this year, committing himself to the club until 2028. And with his comments, the possibility for a transfer to La Liga in the near future appears to be closed.
