It is no secret that Barcelona are eyeing a move for Bernardo Silva as they look to find a replacement for Ousmane Dembele.

The club have reportedly pulled back other operations in order to focus on the Silva deal. They are serious about signing the Manchester City star this summer, after failing to come up with a proposal last time out.

Bernardo Silva willing to renew at Man City

Silva, for his part, is attracted to the idea of joining Barcelona. More importantly, the playmaker is looking to start a new adventure elsewhere.

However, according to Toni Juanmarti, Silva is willing to renew his contract at Man City. He still has a lot of respect for the club and does not mind continuing at Etihad.

Even so, Silva has asked for two weeks in case Barcelona can come up with a tangible proposal.

City never wanted to offload the Portuguese international, but there was a promise that if a proper proposal came his way, the club would allow the player to move on, out of respect for what he has done for the club.

Barcelona nowhere close to tabling an offer

Juanmarti points out that such an offer from Barcelona is nowhere close. The scenario where the Catalans can lure Silva away from Etihad has not occurred to date.

Even though the Man City superstar has given Barça two weeks’ time, the course has already started and the club must come up with a serious proposal in order to advance the deal.

Man City, for their part, are working on a very important renewal offer, in an attempt to convince Silva to prolong his stay further at Etihad.

The English champions do have a good relationship with Barcelona, but that is unlikely to influence the deal, as the two parties look to reach an agreement in the coming weeks.
