Just in: Barcelona talks with Arsenal’s Aubameyang have collapsed over salary conflict

It seems nice things are hard to come by for Barcelona this transfer window. With around eight hours remaining for the window to shut down, they have not been able to offload Ousmane Dembele, while failing to sign any striker or left-back.

Negotiations with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were reportedly moving smoothly, with the former Arsenal captain ready to take a massive pay cut to join Barcelona.

However, according to a report from David Ornstein, talks between the two parties have collapsed over salary conflict. The striker will now return to London from what’s said to have been a family trip to the Spanish city.

The reporter also adds that unless Barcelona are able to find ‘major money’ — like from the sale of Dembele —, any potential move for Aubameyang is off.

That said, Dembele has been strongly linked with an exit to Paris Saint-Germain, who have offered several players to Barcelona to choose from in part of a swap deal. Chelsea are reportedly closing in on the signing, as well.
