Oscar Mingueza has had a mixed campaign so far at Barcelona this season.

The 22-year-old old broke into the first team last season and had grown into a regular in the side, with his ability to play at centre-back and right-back. However, at the onset of the season, the defender had seemingly lost the trust of Ronald Koeman, even though a lack of options at right-back meant he was used regularly.

Under Xavi Hernandez, things are understood to have changed, with the new manager showing faith in the defender. But his form has been up and down, leading to speculations over his future at Camp Nou. Furthermore, there are some concerns within the club that the youngster might not possess the quality to cut it out at the highest level consistently.

The Blaugrana are reportedly getting ready for a squad overhaul with very few players believed to be safe from the axe. And, in case Mingueza finds himself among the players who will be made available for a transfer, there seems to be no shortage of suitors for the Spaniard.

Indeed, El Nacional is reporting that the La Masia graduate is attracting interest from as many as four La Liga clubs as things stand. Real Betis had been interested in the Spaniard during the summer when there had been talks of him leaving on loan. And while he stayed put at Camp Nou, Los Verdiblancos continue to maintain an interest in the Barça defender.

Apart from Manuel Pellegrini’s side, the likes of Celta Vigo, RCD Mallorca and Barcelona’s Sunday’s opponents, CA Osasuna, are also monitoring the 22-year-old Spanish international.

Mingueza’s contract with the Catalan giants runs out in 2023. The defender has played 17 times across all competitions. And it remains to be seen if Barça decide to offload the versatile defender in the upcoming windows.
