Robert Lewandowski has silenced all the doubters that were sceptical about his ability to thrive in La Liga, after playing in the Bundesliga for the bulk of his career.

With nine goals in eight league matches to his name, Barcelona’s main man remains one of the most clinical strikers in Europe this season.

Despite sitting only behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in the Champions League goalscoring charts and scoring three goals for the Blaugrana in the competition already, former Real Madrid goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek has questioned his ability in Europe this season.

Lewandowski has failed to find the back of the net in Barça’s last two Champions League clashes against Bayern Milan and Inter Milan, with the Catalans losing both those matches.

And Dudek, who recently made controversial claims about Lionel Messi and Pep Guardiola, has called on his compatriot to deliver on the biggest stage.

“Barcelona, on the one hand, beat the weakest teams in La Liga, but on the other hand, they cannot beat Bayern and Inter in the Champions League.

“The question also applies to Robert, who scores a lot and regularly in La Liga, but for now he has a problem showing his potential in the Champions League”, he wrote in his column for Polish outlet, Przeglad Sportowy, as relayed by SPORT.

The ex-Real Madrid goalkeeper added: “We are all waiting for Robert’s goal, it would certainly reassure all the disgruntled by suggesting that the Pole scores goals only against the weaker teams. This is obviously not true, but supporters of this theory would lose one of their arguments.”

The Catalan giants are set to lock horns against Inter Milan on Wednesday, after succumbing to a 1-0 away defeat last week. And Lewandowski has the chance to disprove this theory in the contest at Camp Nou.

With it being a must-win match for Barcelona, Xavi Hernandez & co. will look up to the 34-year-old to do the damage against Inter Milan.
