Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos are two individuals who have been the face of La Liga for more than a decade. The former captains of Real Madrid and Barcelona define the term ‘rivalry’. The tussle between the duo has always been a spectacle to watch.
Now however, Messi and Ramos are unbeleiveably teammates at Paris Saint Germain. As both look to conquer great heights in the final years of their career, it will be odd to see them in the same colours.
Earlier in March, Ramos jokingly offered his house to Lionel Messi as a place to stay if the Argentine wished to move to Real Madrid. Now, with an almost similar situation occurring in reality, the Spaniard is said to have done the same again-only not jokingly.
According to El Pais journalist Juan Irigoyen, relayed by AS, Ramos has already contacted the former Barcelona captain offering his home as a place to stay till Messi finds a home of his own.
“If you and your family prefer to be in a house rather than in a hotel, you can stay at mine,” the Real Madrid legend reportedly said.
It is not surprising, considering that Ramos admires and respects Messi a lot. Despite their bitter rivalry on the field, the 35 year old has always made his admiration for Leo known.
Sergio Ramos also posted a welcome message to the six time Ballon d’Or winner on Wednesday, saying, “Who would have told us, right Leo?”
After years of rivalry, the duo will finally put away their weapons and work in cohesion. As PSG looks to win its first ever UCL, watching the two legends of the game combine will be magical.
