Ferran Torres emerged as a scorer for Barcelona in their win over Cadiz last night. He scored the second goal in Barça’s 2-0 victory at the Estadi Olimpic.

It was a convincing performance from the Spaniard, who had many doubters going into the new season. Many even wanted him to leave Camp Nou this summer.

But after an impressive pre-season campaign, Ferran finally came through for Barça, scoring an important second goal in the 2-0 victory over Cadiz.

After scoring the goal, Ferran sent out a silence gesture to the stands, which seemed to be targeted towards the fans.

Ferran Torres’ intentions behind the gesture

However, according to DAZN, Ferran Torres’ silence gesture was not targeted at the Barcelona fans.

It appears the former Manchester City starlet was trying to send out a message to a friend, with whom he had a bet.

The friend was watching the game from the stands, and Ferran was quick to point towards him after scoring the goal.

In fact, the friend in question is one of Ferran’s best friends, with whom the Spaniard has a great relationship.

Needless to say, the Barcelona forward came out as the victor in this bet, thanks to his goal against Cadiz last night.

Buoyed by a promising start to the season, the Spanish international will now look to capitalise on his good form and continue his scoring momentum.

With Robert Lewandowski showing signs of slowing down, this could prove to be an excellent opportunity for Ferran Torres to prove his goalscoring credentials in the final third.

The goal against Cadiz, meanwhile, should also significantly boost his chances of starting in the next game against Villarreal this coming weekend.
