Barcelona are flying high right now. They are undefeated in 13 games across all competitions, and are coming off eight consecutive wins, including tonight’s 0-1 scrape vs Girona.

While they managed to get all three points against their derby rivals, Barça were hit by a huge blow as Ousmane Dembele picked up an injury. Xavi confirmed the same during his post-game press conference.

“Dembele is a difference-maker. I think he’s injured. It’s a real shame. He felt something in his quads.”

The situation is not particularly positive around the winger, with Helena Condis reporting that Dembele could miss nearly three weeks of action. He is in doubt to play the first leg of Barcelona vs Manchester United at Camp Nou in the Europa League.

The clash takes place on 16th February, with the second leg scheduled at Old Trafford on the 23rd.

Adria Albets also confirmed this news, suggesting that Dembele’s entourage believes that the player could be back within a month or so.

The World Cup winner will go through medical tests tomorrow, after which fans can get a clearer idea regarding his injury and any potential time off the pitch.

Dembele has been one of Barcelona’s best players this season, scoring five and assisting five goals in the league in 18 appearances. He was in the spotlight in the Copa del Rey quarters against Real Sociedad, as well, scoring the winner.
