Deal done: Barcelona defender set to earn twice his wage at Premier League club

The flurry of exits continue at Barcelona as out-of-favour defender Junior Firpo is on the verge of completing his transfer to Premier League club Leeds United, reports RAC1.
The Blaugrana, after having recruited as many as four players over the last month, are focusing on cutting the deadwood from the squad of late. Matheus Fernandes saw his contract getting terminated while both Jean Clair-Todibo and Konrad de la Fuente were shipped off to Ligue 1 clubs OGC Nice and Olympique de Marseille, respectively.
Now, Firpo seems the next one to walk through the exit doors at Camp Nou as he is on the verge of completing a transfer to Leeds United. Earlier today, reports emerged claiming that the left-back had flown to England to complete his medical and remaining formalities.
And, it seems like everything has gone down seamlessly, with the aforementioned report claiming that Firpo will be unveiled as a Leeds United player tomorrow, i.e., on Monday.
Firpo signed for Barcelona from fellow La Liga outfit Real Betis in the summer of 2019 as cover and eventual long-term replacement for star man Jordi Alba. However, the 24-year-old never really managed to get going at Camp Nou, managing just 41 appearances in his two years with the club.
However, curtains seem to have fallen on Firpo’s time in Catalonia. The report further states that the defender will be pocketing double the amount of his wages that he used to make with Barcelona. As for the Catalans themselves, they will be receiving a transfer fee of €15 million for the player. All in all, it looks like a good deal for all parties involved.
