The chase for Jules Kounde has reached the tipping point this summer. With just a few weeks remaining until the new season gets underway, there is still a lot of uncertainty over the future of the Sevilla starlet.

The Spanish giants are keen on closing out the exit of Kounde as soon as possible, but they have been left frustrated by the player’s indecision.

The Frenchman currently has a lucrative €12 million per season salary offer from Chelsea, but he is reportedly gunning for a move to Barcelona. Recent reports even suggest the defender has agreed personal terms with Barça ahead of a potential move to Camp Nou this summer.

And in what could be another boost for the Catalans, Eldesmarque has recently put out a report stating Chelsea are now set to abandon their pursuit of the defender.

It appears the Premier League giants are aware of their losing position in the saga, with Kounde reportedly rejecting a move to Stamford Bridge, in favour of a move to Camp Nou. It has led to Thomas Tuchel abandoning the pursuit of the Frenchman altogether, with the club now expected to set their sights elsewhere.

Chelsea had a deal settled with Sevilla, but they had not yet made good progress in terms of negotiations with Kounde.

The English media have been suggesting Kounde’s move to Stamford Bridge for weeks now, but they have also started offering excuses, with a report from Guardian recently stating that Tuchel does not rate Kounde highly due to his height.

As things stand, Barcelona are the undisputed favourite to seal the deal for Kounde, with the club’s official shop even offering the print option for the French defender.
