Real Madrid and Barcelona have not exchanged players since 2007. After Javier Saviola moved from Catalunya to Madrid, there has been no movement between the teams and both have established a sort of gentleman’s pact to not disrupt the order.

However, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez took advantage of the recently concluded El Clasico to approach Joan Laporta, reminding the Barcelona president to forget about signing Isco Alarcon or there will be consequences.

Isco, who sees his current Real Madrid contract running out at the end of the season, has cut a frustrated figure for quite some time. He knows he is not appreciated by Carlo Ancelotti and a delay in moving away has diminished his market value. Real Madrid are aware that the midfielder, who was once a highly sought-after commodity, is short of suitors.

Regardless of the situation though, Barcelona seem keen on signing the Spanish midfielder, which has reportedly not sat well with the president of the Galacticos.

Perez believes Laporta should stay true to the pact and respect the verbal agreement the two teams have established. If not, Madrid will try and pull off a similar move. As is the case with Isco, Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele will fulfil his Barcelona contract at the end of the season.

The only difference between Isco and Dembele is that the latter is still a vital part of his manager’s blueprint.

As it turns out though, Dembele’s unreasonable demands are proving to be a problem that Barca cannot resolve. Although he is reported to be moving either to the Premier League or Bundesliga, a lot supposedly depends on how Barcelona approach the whole Isco situation.

According to El Chiringuito’s Eduardo Inda Isco already has an agreement in place with Barcelona. These reports are via El Nacional, who believe Perez has contacted Dembele’s agent too, sending Laporta an ultimatum that if Isco ends at Camp Nou, their asset will be lured to Madrid.
