Mateu Alemany and Jordi Cruyff had recently said their final farewells, and Barcelona have thus been engaged in a complete reorganization of their sports department.

Earlier today, Barcelona unveiled their new sports organization, which would be run by Deco.

Now, one of the new members of the department, Bojan Krkic has come out to show his excitement as he embarks on this new journey.

Bojan returns with a new purpose

Bojan, who comes from a long history of accomplished individuals, graduated from La Masia and, at 17 years and 19 days, surpassed Lionel Messi’s previous mark for the youngest player to make their Barça debut in La Liga.

As he returns to his boyhood club, Bojan is seen by Barcelona as a key figure whose playing experience will benefit the team’s youth prospects.

“I’m starting a new phase. I joined the new football organizational structure of FC Barcelona. I return with the utmost excitement, ready to contribute my experience and help the club I love,” he wrote on X, expressing his delight at returning to the club in a new capacity.

“Many thanks to President Joan Laporta, the Board of Directors, and Deco for giving me the opportunity,” he added.

Bojan’s responsibilities

Deco gave an insight into the role of his subordinates and particularly shed light on the role Bojan is set to play, via Mundo Deportivo.

Firstly, the Portuguese highlighted failure in assessing the players sent out on loan, which is an issue Bojan will help resolve.

“There is the incorporation of Bojan as coordinator of the football area. With Xavi, we talk about monitoring players loaned to other clubs and it is something that we failed a lot. The coach doesn’t have time, he has to be focused on the games. We have to give answers to the coach,” he said.

“His role is not just for this. He knows what La Masia is and was a player that everyone talked about. We know it is not easy. Bojan has experienced it all at the club. He can contribute a lot to this job. The idea is for him to help us with player monitoring,” Deco added.
