As Barcelona continue to work to comply with the Financial Fair Play regulation, they seem to have a perfect plan in place for the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, the team’s goal is to acquire a forward, a central midfielder, a defensive midfielder, a centre-back, and a right-back.

To begin with, the signing of Lionel Messi is expected to be Barcelona’s top priority as far as incomings are concerned. For the moment, the team is exploring all the possible repercussions that might hit them if Messi does finally come back.

Now, it must be noted that although he would arrive on a free transfer, the salary he would pocket at Barcelona should be acceptable by La Liga.

In all fairness, Messi’s return would not only be beneficial for Barcelona on a sporting level but is equally crucial for the league on the economic front. Planning for next season is already taking place with Messi’s name involved.

Meanwhile, for the centre-back role, Inigo Martinez has already signed a two-year agreement with the Blaugrana. And if there is a problem in terms of registration, MD says he is ready to go on loan for a season.

In midfield, Barcelona are looking for someone who can be a good leader and someone who can replace Sergio Busquets as a pivot.

To occupy the former, Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan seems to be topping the list given his current contract situation and if Busquets decides to leave after all, the team will chase a certain Martin Zubimendi. At the same time, the team has not forgotten about Bernardo Silva as well.

A right-back also remains on the agenda so that they can move Jules Kounde back to his desired right-back slot.

Lastly, it must be noted that if there is still some money left, it will be invested to rope in someone like Vitor Roque and Yannick Carrasco. At the same time, as a low-cost option, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is still on the list.
