Apart from bagging a couple of youth stars in Emre Demir and Pablo Torre, Barcelona have yet to make any noticeable investment in the transfer market so far.

It is indicative of the club’s financial crisis that has left them crippled in the market. But in the coming weeks, Barça hope to finalise deals for some of the players and step up the gears in the transfer market.

A recent report from Mundo Deportivo has offered a detailed list of Barcelona’s transfer targets in the summer transfer window, with the list led by three marquee signings.

Robert Lewandowski is the obvious one. Barcelona have been on the tail of the Polish international over the past few months, with the player himself determined to join the club.

Bernardo Silva is the other top target for Xavi, although the pursuit of the Manchester City playmaker will depend on the fate of Frenkie de Jong. Man City have already slapped a €100 million price tag on Silva, so the operation is bound to be difficult.

Of the three top targets, Jules Kounde could be the first to arrive, provided everything goes well. The Frenchman has been a target for Newcastle and Chelsea this summer, but the player is keen on joining Barcelona.

Sevilla are willing to sell Kounde for a fee of €60 million, which is thought to be expensive for Barça. But the Catalans are open to offering various unwanted stars in an attempt to lower the cost of the operation, with Sergino Dest mooted as one of the candidates.

Barcelona are prepared to replace Dest by targeting Cesar Azpilicueta. They are also eyeing a move for another Chelsea fullback in the form of Marcos Alonso. The two Chelsea stars could reinforce the fullback area for the Blaugrana ahead of the new season.

Barcelona have identified two more targets in the market, in the form of Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie. Both the players have already agreed to join the club on a free transfer, with Barça likely to announce their capture once they get rid of some of the unwanted stars in the team.
