One of the positions that Barcelona are looking to strengthen in the summer transfer window is the left-wing. And, Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco has been identified as the priority target for the area.
Back in January, while selling Memphis Depay to the Rojiblancos, Barça secured a €15 million purchase option for Carrasco from their La Liga rivals.
And while they intend to sign him now, the newly-crowned champions do not wish to meet the price that was initially agreed.
As such, RAC1 is reporting that Barcelona will try and negotiate a lower fee with Atletico Madrid for Carrasco in the coming weeks. But if they are unsuccessful in signing him, the Blaugrana will turn to youngster Ez Abde as the reinforcement on the left flank.
Abde is currently away on loan at Osasuna, where he has made a solid impression. He had a hand in their run to the Copa del Rey finals while also helping them push for European qualification in La Liga.
In 32 games this season, the Moroccan international has scored six goals and set up two more, but his impact has been beyond that.
Abde’s performances have not gone unnoticed at Barcelona and outside. Several clubs are already interested in signing him in the summer and the Catalans have received a couple of offers for the 21-year-old Moroccan ace.
Given the interest he is generating and the possible revenue his sale can help bring in, Barça are understood to be open to his exit.
The potential arrival of Carrasco would further push Abde towards the doors. However, in case the Belgian does not join Barcelona in the summer, the 21-year-old former Hercules CF star might end up staying at the club.
