Barcelona youngster confirms his decision to stay at the club: “Want to learn with the best”

Pablo Torre was one of the first signings by Barcelona in the summer transfer window, but it largely went under the radar. Coming from Racing Santandar, he was expected to play for Barcelona Atletic, while getting a few minutes for the senior team every once in a while.
His adaption to the club was tough, though, as he refused to play for the reserves side for a few weeks running. Torre was adamant to get minutes for the first-team but often found himself sitting on the bench as an unused substitute.
Things started changing over the last month or so, when the Spaniard realised he will likely not get enough minutes under Xavi. Eventually, he made his debut for Barça Atletic, and soon got the chance to debut in the Champions League vs Viktora Plzen.
Torre also scored his first goal for the club in the return fixture against the Czech side, but had to be substituted off due to an injury.
Now much more in sync with the institution, despite not getting enough game-time, he opened up about his Barcelona future during a press conference (h/t Barça Buzz) with the Spain U-21 side.
“I want to stay at Barcelona and learn with the best. Five minutes at the Camp Nou is like 90 anywhere else.”
“At first, arriving to Barcelona shocks you, but in the end, they are very normal people who try to help you with everything and the truth it that you take it normally after that,” he added.
Torre put in an impressive shift against Viktoria on the final matchday of the UCL, and given Franck Kessie’s struggles settling in, coupled with the injury crisis within the squad, it will not be surprising to see him feature much more often for the senior side.
