A recent report from Diario AS has offered a comprehensive update on Barcelona’s pre-season preparations for the coming summer.

It appears Barcelona will not waste any time gearing up for the new season, with Xavi Hernandez likely to assess the future of multiple players. Sergio Busquets, for one, will not continue and the same could be said for a few other first-team members.

The report, though, also points out that the majority of returning players will not have a future at Barcelona. The players in question are Alex Collado, Nico and Sergino Dest. All of them are currently on loan but will return to Camp Nou at the end of the season.

Diario AS claims all three of them will leave Barcelona in the coming summer, either on loan or on permanent transfers.

Dest, for one, is likely to be offloaded as the American international is not rated highly by Xavi. He has failed to impress during his loan spell at AC Milan, and there is a possibility he could join Union Berlin ahead of the new season.

Nico, on the other hand, might have to leave the club on loan once again. The young midfielder is currently at Valencia, but despite his promising performances, he has struggled with injuries.

Barça are reportedly open to offering Nico as part of the deal to sign Juan Foyth, but a loan move elsewhere appears to be the most likely scenario.

As for Collado, the attacker has also struggled with injuries. Barcelona are open to sending him out on loan once again. Better yet, they are open to sanctioning his sale on a permanent deal, as part of the plans to generate fresh revenue.

Only time will tell what the future holds for three Barcelona talents as we approach the summer transfer window.
