After successfully bringing in Vitor Roque in January, many expect Barcelona to undergo a timid winter transfer window, in light of the club’s economic situation.

However, Barça are nowhere close to done and are interested in acquiring the services of at least one more player before the window closes.

The Catalans are ideally looking for a new midfielder, with Aleix Garcia emerging as one of the club’s top priorities.

Barcelona looking to pull another favor

According to Diario SPORT, Barcelona sporting director Deco will look to pull in another financial favour in an attempt to sign another player.

As per the report, the club are particularly relying on the sale of Barça Studios in order to increase their salary limit.

Barcelona’s botched deal with Libero Football Fund has left them in a precarious position. However, the club are in talks with two investment funds willing to play the desired funds for 49% of the stake in Barça Studios.

This transaction should generate enough cash flow for Barcelona to settle their balance sheets, thus allowing them to sign new players.

Objective: Sign a new player on loan

As per the report, Barcelona are aiming to sign a new player on loan for six months if they are able to raise money through the sale of Barça Studios.

However, the club do not entirely rule out the possibility of advancing a future operation. But such kind of clause may only be non-obligatory.

What is quite clear, though, is that there will be no prominent exit from the Barcelona team in January, despite recent reports suggesting otherwise.
