With the new season window finally upon us, Barcelona are expected to finalise the departures of a host of unwanted stars within the team.

While Frenkie de Jong has understandably attracted all the attention, Barcelona could close out the departure of a certain Clement Lenglet in the coming days, if reports from Mundo Deportivo are to be believed.

The Spanish news outlet suggests Lenglet has received the green light from Barça to depart Camp Nou this summer. He is set to fly to London soon and complete his medical at Spurs, before being officially presented as a player for the Premier League giants.

Lenglet had many offers on the table, but the defender opted to join Tottenham. He considers the north London giants as one of the best clubs in the Premier League and wants to partner up with Antonio Conte, who has played a key role in the pursuit.

Tottenham are expected to sign Lenglet on a season-long loan deal. They are set to pay a loan fee of €5 million to Barcelona while covering parts of his salary.

The two clubs have further agreed to place an option to buy clause in the contract, essentially giving Spurs the opportunity to snap him up on a permanent deal if the Frenchman manages to impress in the Premier League next season.

The deal bodes well for both the clubs including Barcelona, who are determined to offload their unwanted stars in an attempt to lower the cost of the workforce and generate transfer revenue.

After Lenglet, Barcelona are expecting many others to follow suit in the coming weeks. De Jong is currently in talks with Manchester United whereas Samuel Umtiti, and Riqui Puig have no shortage of suitors, as they look to take the next step in their respective careers this summer.
