Barcelona’s search for the ‘next big thing’ from Brazil seems to be ever ongoing. After Neymar, the Catalans have been very keen on scouting Brazilian talent, in the hopes that they will uncover another huge star to help marshal this new era at the club.

Former midfielder Deco has been left in charge of all operations in Brazil, and as a result, Barcelona have been linked to a certai Andrey Santos over the past few months.

The 17-year-old midfielder, who plays for Vasco de Gama and only just made his first-team debut, has been on Barca’s radar since January, and now Diario SPORT report that his name has once again popped up in the club’s offices.

However, the Blaugrana are still staking the teenager out and no official proposals are on the cards yet.

Andrey recently signed his first full professional contract with the Brazilian outfit. The contract ties him to the South Americans till August 2023 and has a release clause of €30 million.

His development, now that he has finally debuted with the first team, will be interesting to follow and could lead to Barcelona launching a move for the youngster.

There has been speculation previously that the Catalans could shell out around €7 million for the player.

The defensive midfielder is touted for great heights due to his impressive reading of the game, and could be a cheap acquisition for Barcelona to develop and incorporate into the first team, if they act swiftly.
