While Barcelona made some major signings during the summer transfer window to strengthen their first-team squad, they also brought in a few young talents to reinforce the youth ranks.

One such player who arrived to boost the academy ranks and is already starting to make an impression is Noah Darvich.

Brought in from SC Freiburg, the 17-year-old talent has already broken into Rafa Marquez’s Barça Atletic setup, making six appearances while he has also featured thrice for the Juvenil A side in the UEFA Youth League scoring once.

Gundogan, Ter Stegen mentoring Darvich

According to a report from journalist Jordi Cardero, Barcelona first-team veterans Ilkay Gundogan and Marc-Andre ter Stegen have taken Noah Darvich under their wings and are helping the teenage prospect.

Darvich, a lifelong Barça supporter, made a big impression during the Under-17 European Championships earlier this year with Germany.

Apparently, his performances there caught the eye of his compatriots, Gundogan and Ter Stegen, who are now helping the youngster in Barcelona.

Given his promise, Darvich has already participated in several first-team training sessions and made an impression on senior players.

Gundogan and Ter Stegen, in particular, are said to be mentoring him and treating him wonderfully, to help him through the adaptation period.

Darvich is currently away with the German Under-17 national team for the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Indonesia.

He is one of nine Barcelona youngsters who will be involved in the tournament along with the likes of Pau Cubarsi and Marc Guiu.

Having shone brightly at the Euros, Darvich will be hoping to make a similar impression at the World Cup.
