Only a week remains in the summer transfer window and Barcelona prodigy Ansu Fati is still staring at an uncertain future at the club.
The 20-year-old has fallen down the pecking order under Xavi Hernandez, with the Spaniard being overlooked in favour of other young talents like Lamine Yamal and Ez Abde so far this term.
With Barcelona needing a sale to resolve their Financial Fair Play and registration issues, Fati’s name has been linked with an exit, even though the player has shown no indication of wanting to leave despite his situation.
Arsenal ready to push for Ansu Fati
Arsenal are understood to have previously held talks with Fati’s agent, Jorge Mendes, and are prepared to make a concrete push for his signing in the final week of the transfer window.
As mentioned before, Ansu wishes to continue at Barça, but Mendes is scheduled to meet club officials on Friday and both parties will look to convince the 20-year-old to choose an exit.
In the case of a permanent transfer, the report states that Barcelona will demand a fee of €58.5 million, which might become a hurdle considering that Arsenal have already spent considerably this summer.
The La Liga champions would be open to sanctioning a loan departure for Ansu, as long as his full wages are covered by the north London outfit.
Either way, Arsenal appear to be serious about their pursuit of Fati if the aforementioned report is to be believed.
Apart from Arteta’s side, Tottenham and Aston Villa are also said to be interested in Ansu, but the youngster remains firm on his stance of wanting to continue in Catalonia.
