Barcelona target has proposals from Manchester United, Juventus, and AC Milan – report

At this point, it is well-established that Barcelona will enter the January market for a new right-back. The position is seen as an area that needs urgent reinforcements following the failings of summer signing Hector Bellerin.
Several names such as Diogo Dalot of Manchester United, Juan Foyth of Villarreal and Bayern Munich ace Benjamin Pavard have been linked with a move to Spotify Camp Nou.
Another player on the Blaugrana’s radars is Borussia Dortmund defender Thomas Meunier, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The 31-year-old Belgian international has been on Barcelona’s agenda for a while now, with the club making attempts to sign him last January as well, only for Dortmund to block the transfer. Meunier has since expressed his dismay at not getting his desired move.
There had been links in the summer as well, but nothing came of it. However, Barça have Meunier on their agenda once again heading into the winter window.
But the La Liga leaders are not the only ones chasing the former PSG right-back. As per the report, Meunier is also a target for Premier League heavyweights Manchester United while Italian giants AC Milan and Juventus are also keen.
The report indicates that the aforementioned English and Italian clubs have already tabled proposals for the 31-year-old, while also adding that two more teams from London are keen on the right-back.
This development does not bode well for Barcelona, who are in a difficult financial situation currently. It is claimed that the sporting staff from the Catalan outfit have been in contact with Meunier but the Financial Fair Play situation has made things difficult.
Considering that his contract with Dortmund expires in 18 months, it is expected that Meunier would be available for a low price in January. And the report suggests that the right-back has prioritised a move to Camp Nou.
However, with Barcelona not making a move yet, Meunier will start listening to offers from other clubs that he has on the table. It puts the Blaugrana in a tricky situation which could eventually see them miss out Meunier’s capture yet again.
