Barcelona starlet seeking professional help to deal with psychological issues – report

With all nations set to head to Qatar in November, the ongoing international break came as a final opportunity to fine-tune their squads. And Ansu Fati’s exclusion from the Spanish national team is seemingly a worrying sign.

The Barcelona wonderkid’s array of injuries and lack of playing time meant Luis Enrique had fancied other alternatives, despite the youngster being one of the few attacking game-changers in the side.

However, it has been revealed that the situation is not as adverse as it seems, with light at the end of the tunnel for the prolific winger.

As per a report by SPORT, while Fati was somewhat affected by the news about being excluded from Spain’s squad ahead of the Nations League games against Portugal and Switzerland, he remains calm, as there is a plan in place to ensure he returns to the side feeling 100%.

Further details suggest that all indications have suggested that the 19-year-old is already fully fit and firing. However, it has been claimed that the same cannot be said for the teenager from a psychological perspective, which is why he is currently receiving help from a professional.

Considering the Spanish international has missed a staggering 82 games in the last two seasons across all club competitions, it is understandable why he is reeling from certain psychological scars upon his return to fitness.

While there is no denying Fati’s talent, injuries have held back a career destined for greatness.

With the La Masia graduate set to work physically during the international break, Enrique may have taken the call to give the player the time to return to his very best from both a physical and a mental standpoint before the World Cup in November.
