Palmeiras wonderkid Endrick has set a lot of tongues wagging with his breakthrough performances at the youth and senior levels this year.

The 16-year-old is one of the hottest prospects in the Brazilian market currently and has top European clubs scrambling for his signing, even though he will only be able to arrive once he turns 18, two years later.

Barcelona are one of the clubs interested in signing Endrick as are their arch-rivals, Real Madrid. And according to journalist Jorge C Picon, Palmeiras are set to demand a transfer fee of €45 million plus bonuses in order to let their crown jewel leave.

Endrick signed his first professional contract with the Brazilian club earlier this year in July, penning a deal until 2025. It is said to contain a release clause which was reported to be worth €60 million.

However, as per the report, that is not the case and the release clause amount is something based on the number of his senior appearances. At the moment, it is €40 million and will continue to rise by €5 million after he meets a certain number of appearances, with the cap set at €60 million.

While that might be the case, Palmeiras are said to be open to negotiating a lower fixed fee for Endrick. As per the report, the Verdao could accept a €45 million offer as long as the fee can rise up to €60 million based on bonuses and performance-related add-ons.

Apart from Barcelona and Real Madrid, Manchester City have also entered the race to sign Endrick, which will make things tricky.

The price tag in itself could be an issue for the Blaugrana, who are going through a delicate situation financially. Furthermore, Endrick’s camp is said to have a good equation with the Real Madrid contingent. So, as things stand, Barcelona might face the risk of missing out on the 16-year-old wonderkid.
