Barcelona ready to sign 18-year-old Monaco, Dortmund midfield target

After Josep Bartomeu’s poor management over the last half a decade or so, Joan Laport and co. have undertaken the task of rebuilding Barcelona for the future.
They have been relying on signing promising young players – either for the first-team or for Barça Atletic, with the hope of developing them for the future.
This, coupled with Xavi’s understanding of La Masia has helped them reignite their academy system, with more and more promising players looking to make the cut into the senior squad.
Barcelona also want to mirror their project with Pedri, for example. A player they signed very young, when there was little to no competition in the market for him.
As such, SPORT report that Barcelona have been keeping an eye on a certain Oscar Gloukh.
At 18, Gloukh plays in the Israeli Premier League for Maccabi Tel Aviv. An attacking midfielder by trade, he has sent waves across Europe with his incredible performances, and is on the radar of several clubs, including AS Monaco and Borussia Dortmund.
Gloukh participated in the U-19 European Championship with Israel last year, scoring three goals in four appearances. He also boasts of incredible stats in the league this season, with four goals and seven assists in 16 games.
Therefore, it is no surprise that Barcelona’s coaching staff have ‘amazing’ reports of the youngster, and have given the green light to sign him. They have been following him over the last year or so, and are finally ready to face his signing.
Barcelona believe that Jordi Cruyff’s excellent relationship with Maccabi could help them get the signing over the line despite heavy competition.
