Barcelona ready to sell defender if Chelsea match their €40 million valuation

Barcelona are focusing on getting their unwanted players off the books in the coming days as they are still unable to register new signing Ferran Torres.
The loan exit of Philippe Coutinho should open up some room, but more departures will be needed if the Blaugrana are to register Torres and a new striker that Xavi Hernandez has requested.
But there are no offers forthcoming for the likes of Samuel Umtiti, Clement Lenglet or Neto. At the same time, Luuk de Jong’s exit operation has also seemingly stalled, causing some worries at Camp Nou.
And, El Nacional is now reporting that the Catalan giants could see Sergino Dest be the next player who leaves the club in the current transfer window. The 21-year-old has found himself out of favour under Xavi, who has been unimpressed by the right-back’s defensive vulnerabilities.
With Dani Alves now eligible and the likes of Oscar Mingueza, Ronald Araujo and Sergi Roberto also available as options at right-back, Barça are ready to part ways with Dest this month.
While the USMNT international was believed to be keen on staying and fighting for his spot, the report claims that he is now willing to change clubs in order to get more game-time and challenge for trophies. A move to Bayern Munich had been mooted, but Chelsea have now emerged as a serious suitor for him.
The Blues are in the market for a new full-back who can provide cover on either flank and see the former AFC Ajax starlet as a viable option. They are willing to shell out a sum of €30 million to sign him from Barcelona, although Joan Laporta values the right-back at a steep €60 million, as per the report.
However, it is further claimed that the Blaugrana will sell Dest to Chelsea if they up their offer to €40 million, which would see the club make a decent profit on the right-back. Whether the reigning champions of Europe are willing to stump up that amount remains to be seen now.
