Barcelona prodigy not training with national team after suffering gnarly cut vs Osasuna

Barcelona picked up their third win of the 2023/24 La Liga season on Sunday night as they defeated CA Osasuna 2-1 away at El Sadar.
The game was a memorable occasion for midfield prodigy Gavi as he made his 100th appearance for the Blaugrana, becoming the youngest player ever to reach the milestone.
However, it was not all smiles and joy for the 19-year-old on Sunday as he suffered a nasty-looking cut on his ear during the game.
Gavi not training with Spain
Indeed, Gavi picked up a gnarly gash on his ear during the match against Osasuna which needed immediate medical attention.
It occurred following a strong coming together with the hosts’ star Ruben Garcia.
The Barcelona medical staff stopped the bleeding and sewed up the cut with five staples and the midfielder, the warrior that he is, carried on for the rest of the game like it was nothing.
Now, though, SPORT is reporting that Gavi is not in training with the Spanish national team at Las Rozas due to the cut on his ear.
An alternate report from the same publication states that the 19-year-old has travelled to the national team camp with medical advice from the club’s medical staff.

The La Masia graduate has been told to take antibiotics for a few days in order to avoid any infections while he has also been asked to ensure that the wound does not open.
Gavi expected to be ready vs Georgia
As such, it makes sense for Gavi to not participate in training today, especially with Spain playing their game on Friday.
And, as things stand, it is expected that the Barcelona midfielder will be available for that clash against Georgia.
Just 19 years of age, Gavi is a key member of both Barcelona and the Spanish national team setups.
Currently the youngest-ever debutant for La Roja, the midfield starlet could lose that record to fellow La Masia graduate Lamine Yamal, who has also been called up to the national team by manager Luis de la Fuente.
