Barcelona on high alert with Ronald Araujo’s injury troubles

According to reports from SPORT, Barcelona’s staff are on high alert with Ronald Araujo’s latest injury. There is deep concern in the club offices regarding his poor fitness record and recurring injuries.
Since his debut for the club two seasons ago, the Uruguayan has suffered three muscular injuries. Though none of the injuries was serious, the recurring pattern is worrying.
Last season too, the centre-back missed long stretches out through injury, and the same is being seen this term too. The club members feel that the defender needs personalized attention in multiple regards to put an end to this unfortunate streak.
This could be personalized monitoring of workload, training sessions, diet or a combination of all the factors similar to the approach suggested for Ousmane Dembele earlier this year.
Given the hectic schedule of a club like Barcelona, appropriate management of players and their workload based on capacity becomes essential. This is more so important for players like Dembele and Araujo, who have faced back to back setbacks.
The Uruguayan’s latest injury came against Argentina for the National Team. Early reports say that the defender will miss three weeks at the least. That said, Araujo will not only miss the Champions League clash against Dynamo Kyiv but also El Clasico.
It is a massive blow for Barcelona, for the tall centre-back has been one of the team’s best players even on their worst nights. The player has stepped up his game and become the leader in defence. Moreover, he has also been a valuable asset in attack and even scored a goal in the league.
