Franck Kessie is one of the few Barcelona players facing an uncertain future at the club. The midfielder has been linked with an exit, with Juventus and Tottenham emerging as two potential destinations.

The Times’ Gary Jacob has come up with an update on Kessie’s future, suggesting that the Ivorian may soon decide on his future.

Juventus agree loan deal, Spurs hopeful

While it is almost guaranteed that Kessie would depart this summer, the player is currently at a crossroads, as he looks to choose between Juventus and Spurs.

Jacob suggests Juventus have agreed on a loan deal for the Barcelona midfielder.

The Catalans were initially apprehensive about the loan deal, but it appears they are now on board with the idea of a purchase option being included in the contract.

Tottenham, on the other hand, are hopeful that the player would prefer a move to England. Reports last month claimed the Ivorian does indeed favour a move to the Premier League.

What could a deal with Tottenham look like?

While Juventus want to sign Kessie on a loan deal, how such an arrangement would work for Tottenham remains unclear.

There is, no doubt, conviction from the club’s end to sign Kessie. But whether or not they would prefer a loan deal or a permanent one remains to be seen.

Nevertheless, a recent report has claimed that Barça could stand a better chance of signing one of their targets, Giovani Lo Celso, from Spurs if they offer Kessie and Clement Lenglet in exchange.

That might not be such a bad deal for the Catalans, as Lenglet is unlikely to fetch a high price on the market while Kessie’s current value is not worth more than Lo Celso.

But with Juventus holding a clear intention to sign Kessie as well, it will be interesting to how things pan out in the coming weeks.
