Barcelona fans will be rejoicing their remontada against Celta Vigo as the team came back from two goals down to secure a 3-2 win.

However, the mood will be somewhat dampened by the injury to Frenkie de Jong.

De Jong could be out until November

The Netherlands international had to come off a little after the half-hour mark during the game against Celta due to an ankle issue.

And now, Toni Juanmarti is reporting that the situation could be worse than what was initially anticipated.

And as such, all signs point towards De Jong being out of action until November.

With the midfielder walking off fairly comfortably upon being taken off, it was believed that the issue might not be serious.

However, it is now being claimed that the situation could be more concerning and while more tests are yet to be conducted, the 26-year-old could be out of action for more than a month after initial scans.

Blow for Barcelona

This comes as a major concern for Barcelona, who are already without Pedri, who is expected to be back only after the next international break.

With matches against the likes of FC Porto and Real Madrid coming up over the next month, having De Jong, who was in fine form this season, comes as a big blow for Xavi Hernandez and Barça.

More updates will be awaited once the Netherlands international undergoes further tests at the club’s training facilities.
