According to reports from Fichajes, a new striker has appeared on the wishlist of Barcelona. While many of the names linked with the Catalan club to reinforce the forward line are established names, the new addition is a relatively unknown player.

Daniel Jebbison has made a name for himself over the past season. The young striker plays for Burton Albion in the third division (EFL League One) of English football.

The youngster left Sheffield United to join Burton Albion on loan at the end of August. Since then, he has scored thrice for his new club, starting five games.

The 18-year-old has been linked with a move to one of Europe’s elite in the coming window. Borrusia Dortmund and Barcelona are the two clubs in the race to sign him, and the youngster is said to be in a dilemma between the two options.

With his goalscoring instinct, good height and physical aspect, he would be an ideal candidate to play as the number 9. His daunting physique is said to be misleading, for he shows excellent mobility for a man that tall.

Barcelona are looking for a backup striker because of Sergio Aguero’s unfortunate condition. The Argentine was diagnosed with cardiac arrhythmia and could face at least three months out of action.

Unsurprisingly, though, the Blaugranas are operating on a tight budget. With the renewals of Pedri and Fati, along with Koeman’s sacking taking out funds from the wallet, it remains to be seen if Barcelona prioritises the Canadian’s signing.
